2024-2025 Annual Report
1
Dear Friends of Girl Scouts of Historic Georgia,
Membership Year 2024–2025 was your year of showing what it means to be a Girl Scout community. Through change, challenge, and celebration, you showed up for girls—and for each other—with resilience, generosity, and heart. When Hurricane Helene damaged Camp Tanglewood and paused most activities, including summer camp, the impact was felt across our community. Your patience, encouragement, and commitment to restoring the camp were powerful reminders that our camps are sustained by the people who believe in them. You also helped move our council forward in meaningful ways. Together, we celebrated one year of Girl Scout DreamLab in Albany, honored the retirement of CEO Sue Else, and stepped into a new chapter of leadership. Our girls and volunteers even shared their stories on Good Morning America , highlighting the impact of Girl Scouting across our council.
Because of your generosity and thoughtful stewardship, we closed the year financially strong and ready to continue serving girls and supporting volunteers with purpose.
This year belongs to you. Your year of showing up. Your year of adapting. Your year of believing in girls. Thank you for making it matter.
With gratitude,
Krystal Crawford, Chief Executive Officer
Jeff Wilson, Board Chair

About Girl Scouts of Historic Georgia
Girl Scouts of Historic Georgia offers a place where every girl can take healthy risks, explore her passions, and build lasting connections with friends and mentors who support her along the way. Here, curiosity is encouraged, leadership is practiced, and confidence grows through experiences that challenge and inspire. With the guidance of dedicated volunteers, parents, and staff, we bring the Girl Scout Leadership Experience (GSLE) to life across 122 Georgia counties, plus two in South Carolina and one in Alabama. Spanning more than 48,000 square miles, our council connects girls to opportunities that help them discover their strengths, celebrate their accomplishments, and make a meaningful impact in their communities.

The Girl Scout First Headquarters building, originally the carriage house of Juliette Gordon Low’s adult home, was willed to the Girl Scouts of Savannah upon her death in 1927. It has served the organization longer than any other building in the nation. Today, it functions as a museum, program center, and shop, offering interactive educational experiences with weekend and school-break programs often led by local Girl Scout Seniors and Ambassadors. 6,183 First Headquarters visitors 33 states represented, plus Washington, D.C. and Puerto Rico Girl Scouts of Historic Georgia’s Bridging Savannah’s Bridge allows participants to take part in a one-of-a-kind celebration. This unforgettable event takes the traditional Girl Scout bridging ceremony and elevates it—literally—when girls cross Savannah’s iconic Talmadge Memorial Bridge, spanning more than two miles and reaching 185 feet above the Savannah River. The experience is unlike any other in Girl Scouting. 337 Bridging participants
11 states represented, plus Puerto Rico

Last summer was Your Summer of Ideas , full of creativity, exploration, and fun. We hosted resident camp at Camp Martha Johnston and Camp Low and brought camp adventures to our service centers around the council through day camps. While Camp Tanglewood was closed due to damage from Hurricane Helene, we look forward to welcoming girls back there for new adventures this summer. 132 resident campers 53 day campers
In 2025, we celebrated the centennial anniversary of Camp Martha Johnston. Named after Mrs. Martha Fort Johnston, the camp officially opened in 1925 with land donated by the Johnston family and buildings funded by the Johnston family and local supporters. While it isn’t the oldest Girl Scout camp in the nation, it is our council’s oldest camp and one of the few still standing that Juliette Gordon Low had a hand in.
