Week 3

This week is all about the outdoors, designing and making things! You will get to explore the nature as you observe and gather facts becoming an environmental scientist! The days will be filled with traditional camp activities and lots of games creating a fun filled atmosphere. From hikes, swimming and crafts to science experiments and star gazing through 10-inch telescopes, you’ll be in your element! Brownies will create a new game as the earn their Making Games badge during this week at CMJ. Time to swim, shoot arrows and participate in our paddle boat challenge as part of this elemental outdoor camp! Girl Scout Juniors will create new artwork using simple machines she’s designed and built by implementing the Engineering Design Principle. Games, songs and friendships are the foundations of this elemental week at camp! You’ll be working as a team to design and think like an engineer as you break it all down to the basics! From designing life-saving equipment to building and launching rockets this hands-on week is filled with elements from different STEM disciplines. Enjoy traditional camp activities like archery, games and campfires. By weeks end, cadettes would have earned the “Think Like an Engineer” journey badge requirements with only the take-action piece left to complete at home. This coming camp session, you’ll plan and lead activities for younger campers, including a service project. You’ll assist camp staff as you practice managing schedules, learn effective group management techniques, and help resolve conflicts. You’ll continue to serve as a role model for younger campers as you develop your leadership skills.
