State of the Georgia Girl Report
Confidence that doesn’t Depend on Likes GIRL SCOUT IMPACT The confidence a Georgia girl builds in Girl Scouts is not the kind that lives or dies on a follower count. Through hands-on badge work, service projects, and the Cookie Program, she builds evidence about herself that no algorithm can revoke : proof that she can plan something, finish something, learn something hard, and try something new. In a Girl Scout troop, the adults and peers who see her in that work know the whole girl behind the confidence, including the parts of her that don’t always feel easy to be. Girl Scouts also creates intentional digital spaces , bringing girls together through a familiar digital medium, with the active participation of adults who care. The culture created through that sisterhood allows girls to experience vulnerability and security in a safe and supportive setting - without the comments and likes. 85% of Georgia Girl Scouts develop a strong positive identity through the program, agreeing “I am happy with myself most of the time.” “ I am autistic so a lot of things aren’t easy for me. My troop leaders took the time to know me and my friends helped me feel special and to try new things.
