CALL TO ACTION: DIGITAL Engage, Don’t Avoid

Georgia’s girls are the first generation for whom the online life is not optional. The most protective adult response is neither surveillance nor surrender: it is participation, media literacy, and platform advocacy that meets girls where they already live. The efforts girls make to maintain a digital persona will not benefit from the judgement of adults, but their curiosity and wisdom.

Learn the Platforms . Adults must become literate in the digital spaces where girls spend their time - not to surveil, but to understand what she encounters and to help her navigate it.

Critical Consumption . Media literacy - the ability to recognize the role of algorithms, identify manipulated images, and question online truths - must be part of developmental learning.

Advocate for Design . Georgia is leading the country with in-school phone management policies - momentum must be continued to keep pace with AI enabled harms.
