PROGRAM AIDE AND VOLUNTEER IN TRAINING TRAINING WEEKEND  As a Program Aide, you will lead younger Girl Scouts and assist Girl Scout adults. You can volunteer to help at troop meetings, Service Area events or even council sponsored programs. In your leadership capacity you can facilitate activities such as songs, games, crafts, hikes, science experiments, and more! The leadership skills you use as a Program Aide will also help you with service to the community. Volunteer Training trains Seniors and Ambassadors to be troop leaders. Older girls will have the skills (when completed) to help with an adult supervision to manage a Girl Scout Troop with girls grade k-5th. When : October 14-15, 2022 / 6 pm Friday - 5 pm Saturday Where : Camp Kirksey, Albany Cost : $40 per girl, $15 per adult Registration Deadline: September 16, 2022 SISTER SATURDAY  Join us for a spooky sweet Sister Saturday! We'll have Halloween STEM programs where girls will have fun designing some engineering projects using Halloween candy. WARNING: eating candy is not part of the TEEN LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE  Join us for Teen Leadership Conference at Camp Martha Johnston, a special weekend for Cadettes, Seniors and Ambassadors only. Girl planners will create workshops on topics that are inportant to girls. Activities like like archery, self-defense, highest awards trainings and more! When : November 4-6, 2022 / 6 pm Friday - 12 pm Sunday Where : Camp Martha Johnston, Lizella Cost : $65 per girl, $35 per adult Registration Deadline : November 23, 2022 BROWNIE PAINTING BADGE  Spend time at the Albany Museum of Art, exploring the galleries and learning with Director of Education and Public Programming, Annie Vanoteghem. Meet with a practicing artist to learn about their work and what inspires them. You'll discover new ways of working with paint and develop your new skills while working towards the Brownie Painting Badge! Daisies will earn a fun patch. LET'S RIDE HORSES  Love horseback riding? This ride's for you. Join us at Rockin N Stables where you"ll learn the basics of horseback riding and caring for a horse and stable. Your instructor Cecilla has more than 20 years of experience with horses! Have a blast as you earn the Junior Horse back riding badge or fun patch. When : November 12, 2022 / 10 am - 1 pm Where : Rockin N Stables, Pelham AN ANIMAL THANKSGIVING  Join us at the Zoo at Chehaw for Animal Thanksgiving! Spend the day learning where animals live, survival needs, and their specialized needs while in captivity. Spend the day learning about the multiple forms of enrichment our zookeepers provide our animals. In addition to enrichment, girls will have the opportunity to meet zookeepers and visit behind the scenes locations and attain greater knowledge of a zookeeper's daily schedule.
